Selling a Home in the Winter

There are several advantages to selling a home in the winter instead of waiting until spring. Most sellers believe March, April, and May are the best times to sell a home so there will be less competition selling in the winter. Contrary to popular belief, the market does not shut down over the holidays. If buyers are looking at homes in the winter months, it is likely that they are looking to buy in a tight timeframe. Those buyers are very serious and very motivated. Take advantage of the warmth that the holiday season brings. Seasonal arrangements and festive decorating help buyers picture themselves spending the holidays there. By selling in the winter, you then have an opportunity to buy in the spring, when all the other sellers are putting their homes on the market, without a home to sell.
