Stuck in the City

Many young professionals move to a big city for the lifestyle that city living offers before deciding on where to live long-term or raise a family. As companies start asking employees to return to the office, staying in the city for convenience comes with the higher cost of living. Uncertainty in the prospects of remote work or of job prospects elsewhere makes the default decision to stay in the city easier. Some now find themselves stuck in the city because the higher rent did not allow them to save enough for a down payment. For many, this has delayed home buying decisions. Sellers are again considering offers with low down-payment, opening up possibilities for these buyers.
